Pricing principles
Everything ClarShot does today is free, and stays free. Pro comes later. These are the rules we publish now, so you can hold us to them.
Free
Full-page, region and visible-area screenshots. The annotation editor with blur and pixelate. Screen, tab and camera recording with microphone and tab audio, no time limit, no watermark. Export to PNG, JPEG, WebP, PDF, MP4 and WebM. No account, no network requests, works offline.
Pro, coming later
Pro will add presentation and video polish: backgrounds, padding and frames for screenshots, cuts and zoom for recordings, your own logo on exports. It will run on your device like everything else and make no network requests.
$29, once, all updates included. A personal license for up to three browsers, commercial use included, verified offline from a signed key that never leaves your browser. Thirty-day money-back guarantee. Never a subscription for anything that runs locally.
The five rules
- Local features are never paywalled. Not retroactively, not "temporarily". What is free today stays free.
- Early users are grandfathered. Anyone using a Pro feature during early access keeps it for at least 12 months, or gets a lifetime discount.
- 60 days' notice before anything starts costing money.
- Your data leaves with you. On any downgrade you get a complete export. Nothing is held hostage to a subscription.
- Viewers never pay. On team plans, only the people who create pay for a seat.
Why we publish this
Most "free" capture tools are free the way a hotel minibar is free. The limits appear at export: a watermark, a five-minute cap, a paid trial for the button you just clicked. We would rather write the rules down before you install, and be held to them.
